What is the Alexander Technique?

The Alexander Technique is a way to become more aware of balance, posture and movement in everyday activities. Allows you to release unnecessary muscular tension that unconsciously has become a regular part of moving and teaches how to reorganize the forces in a more beneficial and balanced way.

By restoring the optimal functioning of the postural mechanisms that maintain a balance with minimum effort, the Alexander Technique gives lightness and elasticity to the person, releasing the breath from old blocks and restrictions. It is a re-education process: better awareness and facilitates the coordination and execution of all learning activities, both everyday and specialized, professional, artistic or sports. The learning method brings therapeutic benefits and preventive health of the individual, because the misuse of their bodies is an important factor in the onset and evolution of many ailments.

How does it work?

The dynamic relationship between the head, neck and torso is a key component for postural balance and motor coordination in general. When the package is free, without excessive tension, the muscles maintain the balance of the head in a flexible way and the entire spine responds with a natural tendency to grow upward, facilitating an overall realignment led by the head and greater freedom movement of the coastline in breathing. Faced with the motor habits that cause compression and shortening of the body, Alexander Technique teaches us to stop, halt the automatic reactions and lead mentally inappropriate stretching of tissues through various body parts. In this way you can find the appropriate degree of elastic tension that stimulates the natural functioning of postural reflexes, free breathing and make the movements more fluid, coordinated and accurate.

Anna Gotti and Paolo Frigoli after years of collaboration, have developed an original approach that allows them to work together on the alliance. Vocal exercises are integrated with the guidance of the manual work of Paolo and provide complete educational experience, which is further enriched with the contribution of the group.
