Vocal technique for all styles: jazz, blues, rock, pop, gospel, r&b, folk, musicals, etc.

 

1 - Breathing

  • Introduction to proper breathing diaphragmatic breathing / abdominal
  • The respiratory system (trachea, lungs, diaphragm, thoracic / pelvic organs between the two, the ribs and abdominal muscles)
  • Appoggio (Sustain) and support
  • The posture, the use of the voice through right breathing exercises

Exercises:

    • train the diaphragm and the abdominal muscles
    • relax muscle tension of the body
    • good posture

 

2 - The production of sound

  • the larynx, the proper use of the instrument voice

Exercises and vocalizations for:

    • right speech attack, voice, intonation, volume, register, vibrato and color
    • relax muscle tension of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, jaw and facial muscles

 

3 - Resonance and Articulation

  • the pharynx, soft palate, hard palate, mouth, nasal cavity and paranasal

Exercises and vocalizations:

    • the use of separate but interconnected resonances that determine the richness of sound, dynamics, flexibility, and then allow the singer to find the unique voice of his personality.

 

4 - How to expand the vocal range

When the voice is fully flexible, the vocal range is 3 octaves minimum. Maybe we do not use such a wide extension in all styles of modern singing but during the exercises you train to keep the whole instrumente flexible through these exercises.

 

Exercises and vocalizations:

    • to acquire vocal range and blending of the whole voice

 

5- Vocal Power Singing Method - Belting, power and 4 colors

In modern singing the voice at times has to reach limits of its chest voice and with power. This is called Belting. With a good support you can get to do this without creating problems to your vocal instrument.

 

Exercises:

    • the 4 colors - chest, mouth, nose, head exercises
    • dynamics - Piano and forte, crescendo and decrescendo
    • The vibrato on the breath or diaphragmatic - The 4 types of vibrato that singers used as a means of expression: the flutter vibrato, throat vibrato, vibrato brilliant diaphragmatic vibrato on the breath. How to control the speed and the "delayed vibrato".
    • Effects - Back L, creaky door, cry, laugh
